We have some funding from Smart & Skilled to run courses designed to give you the skills to Guide Day and Overnight ski tours.
NOTE: There is a compulsory information and enrolment session on Sunday 15 April 2018 at 3/18 Abel St, Jamisontown NSW 2750
There will be two separate courses which will run in Kosciuszko National Park on the following dates
Course 1 (new and beginner skiers)
5 July 2018 Preparation and basic ski skills
7 – 15 July 2018 Ski Touring
Course 2 – (intermediate and experienced skiers)
17 – 25 July 2018 Ski Touring
The units in the course are
SISOSKT201A Demonstrate basic cross country skiing skills
SISOSKT303A Day ski tour away from a patrolled area
SISOSKT304A Guide day ski tours
SISOSKT305A Apply snow craft skills for day touring
SISOSKT410A Guide overnight ski tours
SISOSKT408A Apply snow craft skills for overnight touring
You will need to provide your own personal clothing and equipment.
This course is designed for outdoor guides wanting to add these competencies to their existing skills.
