This course is designed to give participants the skills to provide first aid in accordance with the guidelines and principles recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and other peak bodies

Pre theory course work & ½ day practical assessment
Accreditation
This nationally recognized course Apply First Aid HLTAID003 (previous codes HLTFA311A,HLTFA301C) is more commonly known as Senior First Aid. This course satisfies the Code of Practice – First Aid in the Workplace. Qualification is taken from the HLTHealth Training Package.
Eligibility/Entry Requirements
This course is designed for those who have previously completed an acrredited First aid course (HLTFA311A , HLTFA301B, HLTFA301C , HLTAID003)
Pruior to the course you are required to
– complete the online training.
– print your theory certificate and
– attend the 1/2 day practical assessment session.

How will you learn?
First Aid Management of a range of illness and injuries which includes:
– Anaphylaxis
– Asthma
– Cardiac arrest
– External haemorrhage
– Fractures, sprains, strains
– Unconscious casualty
– Performing CPR
– Using a AED
– Snake, spider bites
– Burns
– Choking
– Diabetes
Assessment
Assessment for this course requires successful completion of
– pre course material
– In class theory test
– In class practical demonstration.
(note you will be required to perform 4 minutes of CPR on a manikin placed on the floor)
Please wear comfortable clothing to the workshop as some of the practical skills require you to kneel and lay down on the floor.
For the practical assessment you will role play with another student as your casualty
