Certificate III: Outdoor Recreation – Jindabyne 2020

DESCRIPTION
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in guiding outdoor recreation activities in a controlled environment.
It requires technical knowledge of the outdoor recreation activity to be transferred to allow individuals to safely participate in the outdoor activity


LENGTH OF COURSE
The course is delivered with a combination of self paced theory and block practical sessions. (see FULL COURSE  INFORMATION DOCUMENTATION)

There are various venues for this course which is predominantly based in the Snowy Mountains Region


ELIGIBILITY/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements: In order to complete this course you will be required to Bushwalk in various environments. You will also be exposed to aquatic environments so its essential you can swim 100m. The Mountain
Bike component requires previous bicycle riding skills.
It is desirable that participants have the physical attributes to participate in adventurous physical activities.

Future Courses
Upon completion of this course, participants will eligible to complete a Certificate IV Course including the Certificate IV: Outdoor Recreation – Alpine Bushwalking and Ski Touring 2020.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in guiding outdoor recreation activities in a controlled environment.

It requires technical knowledge of the outdoor recreation activity to be transferred to allow individuals to safely participate in the outdoor activity. It does not provide the skills and knowledge to impart the required level of technical knowledge and expertise to allow participants to independently undertake outdoor recreation activities.

Program Content
The training program covers 24 units of competency taken from the training package. There are 12 core units and 12 elective units. You will be required to complete theory components through workbooks and assignment. The practical components of the course require your attendance.
